Director of Children’s & Family Ministry

Job Description

The Director of Children’s Ministries is responsible to lead and direct the Children’s Ministry at AHCC, developing and overseeing programs that help kids grow into healthy followers of Jesus. This includes creating systems, programming and equipping volunteers to build a safe environment for kids to flourish. The Director will create a culture and ministry where children and families are valued, Jesus Christ is treasured and biblical seeds are planted for gospel growth.

Duties and Responsibilities
 Serve as the spiritual leader for children’s ministry, kids, their families and volunteers
 Create, implement and accomplish the mission, vision and values of the Children’s Ministry
 Create and implement all policies and procedures necessary to operate an effective ministry
 Create and implement a discipleship strategy
 Develop a Volunteer Leadership Team
 Create and implement a communication strategy incorporating print, digital, social media, etc.
 Train and equip parents to disciple their children through strategic resources
 Oversee children’s ministry curriculum
 Oversee Nursery volunteers and operations
 Oversee Stay N Play ministry
 Create outward focused family events for engagement and connection
 Keep all classrooms organized and clean
 In conjunction with the Safety & Security Team, develop, maintain and communicate emergency safety policies and procedures
 Attend and participate in staff and leadership meetings
 Manage ministry budget
