Worship Pastor

Job Description

The Worship Pastor… is a critical position in the success of Church on The Hill because he/she is the one who shepherds people through worship experiences, representing the heart of God to us.  The Worship Pastor must be an excellent vocalist and communicator of God’s love and truth. The goal of our worship gatherings is to be transformational and not just informational.  While the focus of the worship gathering will come from the lead pastor’s message, a diversity of band-driven, modern musical styles is required to enhance the message and lead to moments of transformation. The Worship Pastor is also a collaborative member of the Leadership Team providing vision and strategy over the whole church. 

* We are open to this position being a Worship Director position for any candidate who doesn’t have pastoral training, but is adept in leading worship.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership On Stage: effectively lead worship weekly in Sunday gathering and train up other worship leaders from within the church to lead from the stage
Leadership Off Stage: recruit, train, and manage multiple volunteer teams
Message Team – the Worship Pastor participates in the weekly message-prep meeting (led by the Lead Pastor)
Band / Vocal Team – the Worship Pastor leads the Sunday morning on-stage team of volunteers and paid musicians
Program Team – the Worship Pastor leads the production of creative elements that supports the message and series 
Production Team – the Worship Pastor manages the team responsible for the Sunday gathering AVL technology (sound, lighting, ProPresenter)
Video Team – the Worship Pastor oversees the team responsible for video recording and online live-stream broadcasting of the Sunday gathering

QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent in leading vocally and with an instrument, either piano or guitar
Proficient in managing and troubleshooting ProPresenter with numerous offboard outputs
Adept at scheduling services and music through Planning Center Online
General knowledge of live-streaming services through RESI, OBS, and YouTube
Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  
Experience:  3-5 years experience leading worship. 
Follower of Christ and has a lifestyle that demonstrates obedience to His Word
Commitment to the vision, mission, and values of Church on the Hill
Has a passion for leading worship and developing a team of volunteers
