Job Description
Fielder Church is seeking a full-time Discipleship Formation Pastor. The Discipleship Formation Pastor will primarily work with the Discipleship Pastor in strategically mobilizing our congregation into Discipling Communities and helping shape a culture of multiplicative and missional discipleship.
Fielder Church is a thriving gospel-centered church that reaches a diverse community at currently 3 different campuses in English and Spanish. Our vision is inhaling and exhaling the gospel and making disciples who do the same. We invest in people, grow them spiritually, help them become who God had created them to be, and send them out to do more of the same.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Work with the Discipleship Pastor to cast the vision for multiplicative and missional discipleship in all Fielder groups.
Work with the Discipleship Pastor to develop pathways into Discipling Communities from various entry points.
Work with the Discipleship Pastor to mobilize the congregation into Discipling Communities
Support and create pathways with the Discipleship Pastor and Campus Pastors in the shepherding of baptized believers into Discipling Communities.
In collaboration with the Discipleship Associate Pastor to equip and empower leaders, toward multiplication of their group.
In collaboration with the Discipleship Associate Pastor provide regular connection to, and training for leaders to ensure they are equipped and shepherded.
Assist the Community Groups Pastor to mobilize Groups to reach out to the lost through serving projects and hospitality encounters.
Work with the Discipleship Pastor to document vision progress through tracking specific metrics.
Work with the Discipleship Pastor to develop new types of Discipling Communities and mobilize leaders to start new types of groups.
Work with the Discipleship Pastor to create pathways of sending groups and mobilize groups towards going.
Work with the Discipleship Pastor to create a strategy for Young Adult ministry and to mobilize Young Adults into Discipling Communities.
Assist the Discipleship Associate Pastor and Community Group Pastor to mobilize all current group leaders to intentionally create smaller pockets of discipleship within their group to raise up disciple makers that multiply.
Work with the Discipleship Pastor to create and review new and current curriculum for all groups. Assist the Community Groups Pastor in the creation of the weekly sermon-based lesson study for Community Group Leaders.
In partnership with the Discipleship Associate Pastor mobilize leaders in the adaptation of D-Group Curriculum.
Work with the Community Groups Pastor and Discipleship Associate Pastor to oversee and provide accountability for Community leaders to connect guests into Discipling Communities.
Manage the current D-Group assignment process and empower leaders to connect with participants and help participants to connect with leaders as needed.
Support the Discipleship team with all Sunday and Wednesday group efforts as assigned.
Requirements:
Have a heart and passion for discipleship.
Able to oversee and provide leadership for multiple groups and areas.
Ability to read a wide range of theological and discipleship books.
Able to communicate and work with website content and online educational tools.
Able to learn and work with the Church Database System (OneChurch).
Takes initiative and innovates.
Excellent time management skills and ability to correctly prioritize work.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communicator: one-on-one and to larger groups.
Excellent in team collaboration / serving others.
Spanish bilingual is a plus.
Education and Experience
At least two years of ministry experience preferred.
Seminary or Bible college training preferred.
