Worship Leader

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
As the Worship Leader, you will play a crucial role in creating a meaningful worship experience for our congregation. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and leading worship for weekend services, creating an atmosphere of worship that engages and inspires our congregation.

2. Leading the worship team by planning activities, rehearsals, set expectations, and scheduling team members as necessary to accomplish worship in weekend services effectively.

3. Building a high-quality worship ministry by recruiting, developing, and directing instrumentalists and vocalists, fostering their growth and talents, identifying opportunities (e.g., conferences, trainings) that will help equip them for the work of the ministry.

4. Meeting weekly with the Lead Pastors to review past services and collaborate for future services, ensuring alignment with the overall vision of Freedom Church.

5. Discovering and introducing new songs that resonate with our congregation and prepare chord charts for members of Freedom Worship.

6. Assisting in the planning and leading of worship for special events outside of weekend services, bringing worship to various facets of our church life.

7. Planning, determining, and managing the Freedom Worship budget, volunteers, and other resources, ensuring efficient and effective use to support worship ministry needs.

8. Setting annual goals for Freedom Worship that align with the overall mission, vision, and church-wide annual goals.

Qualifications:
• A deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• A heart for worship and a passion for leading God’s people closer to His heart in worship.
• Exceptional skills as both an instrumentalist and a quality vocalist.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience in worship planning and execution.
• Knowledge of music technology and equipment.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Additional Skills and Strengths Required:
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the ideal Worship Leader at Freedom Church should possess the following skills and strengths:

1. Leadership: Ability to lead and inspire the worship team with musical excellence.

2. Team Collaboration: A strong “team player” and team builder, experienced in supervising, motivating, and encouraging others, fostering a collaborative and harmonious worship ministry team.

3. Confidentiality: A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion, especially when dealing with sensitive matters within the church community.

4. Organizational Skills: Proven organizational and administrative skills to efficiently manage worship schedules, resources, and ministry logistics.
