Worship Arts Director, full-time, salaried position
Hope Center is a Center of Hope in the Diablo Valley (NE San Francisco Bay Area). We embody God’s family on mission, following Christ into our community, loving and leading others to follow Him.

Expectations
• Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and pastoral staff to create and implement Hope Center’s vision for worship gatherings.
• Select and arrange music, transitions and other elements of weekly and special (Christmas Eve, Holy Week, etc.) worship gatherings.
• Recruit, develop and lead teams of volunteer musicians and vocalists to rehearse and lead weekly and special worship gatherings.
• Assist other Hope Center ministries in providing worship and music opportunities.
• Recruit, train and schedule additional stage volunteers (service host, Scripture reader, communion servers, prayer facilitators, etc.) for worship gatherings.
• Coordinate volunteers to develop and implement stage design in accordance with seasonal and message themes.
• Champion ministry of Spirit-led prayer within Hope Center.
• Supervise the technical staff (currently two part time employees and various volunteers) in providing lighting and audio/visual support.
• Participate in the regular staff rhythms (staff meetings, leadership gatherings, retreats).
• Commitment to the vision & values of Hope Center Covenant Church and supportive of the Covenant initiatives (ECC and PSWC).
• May be assigned additional duties by the Lead Pastor.

• Nurture a rhythm of developing intimacy with God, emphasizing times of prayer, reading of the Word and reflection.
• Maintain deep spiritual friendships with God’s family, incorporating service, accountability and recreation.
• Love and lead others towards Christ through habits of hospitality, reconciliation and evangelism.

Skills and Abilities
• Musicianship: instruct worship team members in proper pitch, rhythm, melody, harmony and instrumental arrangement.
• Knowledge: understanding of modern worship with the ability to reframe traditional songs/hymns into contemporary contexts.
• Discernment: sense appropriate times for loud, celebratory atmospheres as well as quiet, contemplative moments.
• Teamwork: demonstrate a collaborative and developmental approach to leadership.
• Computer: proficiency with Planning Center, Microsoft Office, and church management software.
• Physical: ability to stand for up to 90 minutes, lift/move up to 25 pounds, play guitar or piano, can sing/speak and hear.
