We are seeking a passionate and experienced Pastor to support the mission of Lone Star Cowboy Church by helping children, youth, and young adults grow in their faith journey. The Next Gen Pastor is responsible for the planning and implementation of Christian education, faith development, and spiritual growth for kids from birth to young adults (26 years old/unmarried) and their families. This is accomplished by pastoring, mentoring, and equipping the children within the Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and the Young Adults Ministry with the Word of God. This position will oversee the provision of high-quality pastoral care, while also managing the financial parameters of the ministries.
Job Responsibilities
– Cast the vision and direction of the Next Gen Ministry; motivating others to fulfill the vision.
– Oversee and provide leadership, support, and coordination of activities for the Assistant
– Directors of the Children, Student, and Young Adult Ministries, equipping them to lead in different areas within the ministry.
– Develop and lead the Young Adult Ministry through teaching, counseling, and mentorship to help strengthen relationships within the group and to further their spiritual growth and development.
– Develop and oversee Life Groups within the Next Gen Ministry.
– Manage the daily activities of the Next Gen Ministry by leading and/or overseeing weekly bible studies, outreach events, conferences, camps, and other ministry activities.
– Oversee the development of creative and engaging programs that inspire and connect with our children, youth, and young adults.
– Oversee the implementation of program plans by assisting with ordering needed materials, scheduling speakers and volunteers, reserving space, developing curriculum/study materials, and handling other administrative details.
– Oversee the annual budget for the Children’s, Youth, and Young Adult Ministries as well as the day-to-day stewardship of each budget.
– Oversee and approve all internal and external communications for the ministry, documenting ministry activities appropriately in the church’s database.
– Ensure the Next Gen Ministry’s social media presence is being maintained and assist with the creation of content to promote the ministry and upcoming activities.
– Provide spiritual guidance, mentorship, and education to ministry team members to further discipleship efforts.
– Oversee the planning and implementation of all student mission trips.
– Identify ways to develop relationships with students and families outside of the church (i.e., attending sporting events, schools; programs, etc.)
– Partner with other ministry leaders to connect the children, youth, and young adults within the ministry with a group and/or ministry where they can discover their spiritual gifts and use them for ministry.
– Encourage and facilitate meaningful spiritual, mental, and emotional growth among the children in the church as well as in the community.
– Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and other outside organizations within the community to minister to children, youth, and young adults.
– Recruit, train, and support volunteers to assist in the children’s, youth, and young adult ministries.
– Oversee existing and develop new outreach opportunities in the local schools.
– Perform various pastoral duties including providing counseling, and officiating weddings and funerals, as needed.
– Serve on a rotating teaching schedule to minister to the children, youth and/or young adults.
– Maintain current knowledge of ministry trends to better support the ministry and its members.
– Ensure availability and flexibility to meet with parents and students as needed.
Qualifications
7+ years of Pastoring experience is required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies or a similar field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
Licensed, ordained, or able to complete the requirements of either while employed by Lone Star Cowboy Church through an accredited institution.
Experience in Biblical teaching and preaching in a pastoral role, with demonstrated wisdom and discernment in actions and direction.
Experience in children’s, youth, or young adult ministry, including program development and volunteer management.
A collaborative and team-oriented approach to ministry, with the ability to work effectively with volunteers and staff members.
Effective communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to build relationships with children, youth, young adults and their families.
Experience managing a budget, with the ability to manage money effectively.
Proficient in Google Suite and other applicable software (i.e., Breeze, etc.)
