The role of the Student Pastor is to create safe and engaging environments that are reaching students (6th grade-12th grade) for Christ and discipling them into passionate followers of Jesus.
You are:
Passionate for youth and their families
Able to preach and communicate effectively with youth and parents
A self-starter (doesn’t need to be told to do everything) but thrive on a team
Able to recruit volunteer leaders (adults) and empower them to relationally disciple students in small group
Passionate about connecting students to the larger body of Christ for intergenerational relationships and worship
You will be:
Responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for students (6th grade-12th grade) on Sunday Nights that helps them grow UP, IN, and OUT.
Developing sermon series and small group questions that effectively disciples the students entrusted to your care.
Communicating consistently with students and parents via a weekly newsletter (MailChimp), text messages (Clearstream) and managing the Mercy Students social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook)
Identifying and training volunteer leaders to invest relationally in the lives of students.
Investing in the lives of Mercy Students volunteers— building relationships with them in the most effective ways possible.
Empowering students to serve on Sunday mornings and serve the community outside the walls of the church.
Developing student leaders and empowering students to impact the world through their unique Spiritual DNA.
Planning and overseeing Mercy Students participating in annual trips and camps to give them unique experiences to encounter God, new friends, and be poured into by their leaders.

Maintain God ordained priorities in your life by putting Jesus Christ first, your spouse second (if applicable), your children third (if applicable) and the ministry fourth.
Support and champion the overall mission and vision of Mercy Road Church amongst the congregation and in the community at large.
Invest and invite the lost to know Jesus and join God’s movement through Mercy Road Church.
Hold integrity standards when working with the opposite sex.
