Position Description:
Vale Church is seeking a dynamic and visionary Lead Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and direction to their large church community. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and gifted communicator with a heart for people, capable of leading and empowering a team of staff and volunteers to carry out the church’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide dynamic, Bible-based preaching and teaching that inspires and challenges the congregation to grow in their faith and transform lives.

Cast a compelling vision that is culturally relevant and Biblically pure for the church that aligns with its mission and values, and work with the staff and key leaders to develop strategies and action plans to achieve that vision.

Oversee and shepherd the church’s members, providing pastoral care and support as needed.

Lead the church staff, providing direction, coaching, and accountability to ensure all ministries’ and programs’ smooth and effective operation.

Build and maintain influential relationships with church members, community leaders, and partner organizations.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:
A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ committed to living out biblical principles in daily life.

A minimum of 8 years of experience in successful pastoral ministry, with a track record of leading and growing people.

A gifted communicator with strong preaching and teaching skills, able to connect with diverse audiences and communicate biblical truths compellingly and relevantly.

A visionary leader with the ability to cast a clear and compelling vision for the church and the skills to develop and implement strategies to achieve that vision.

Vale Church has been making a difference in the Bloomington/Normal community for years. They have an excellent team, modern facilities(with a vision for expansion), and thousands of people who come together each weekend to celebrate Jesus. Still, their best days are ahead of them, and they are seeking a Lead Pastor with the vision and passion to lead them there!

A proven track record of leading and managing staff and volunteers, with strong organizational and leadership skills.
