Position: Senior Pastor

Location: Manette Community Church, Bremerton, WA

Beyond these basic responsibilities and qualifications, we are seeking someone to lead us into our next chapter of ministry. Bremerton, WA, is the home of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and there are many young families in the community. Our church sits across the street from Catalyst Public Charter School with whom we have established a good working relationship that provides great opportunities for reaching young families. Our congregation is prepared and ready to reach our community with the gospel. Our next pastor needs to be able to connect with these people while leading us to do the same, empowering us to translate our personal experiences with Christ into relevant encounters with our community.

Job Description
The role of the Senior Pastor is to lead and equip the Church to accomplish its mission. The qualities we desire of the Senior Pastor at Manette Community Church are:
• Meets biblical standards for faith-based leadership (Titus 2:1-10, 1 Peter 5:1-4 and 2 – Timothy 2:24-26)
• A strong gift for teaching with a passion for communicating biblical truths in a way that is scripturally based and relevant to today’s world (2 Timothy 4:2)
• A desire to further the kingdom of Jesus Christ through preaching the gospel and making disciples
• Able to effectively lead, coordinate and evaluate ministry leaders in the church
• Able to motivate and inspire the congregation into action within the church and in the community Ephesians 4:11-12 “Equipping the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ”
• A passion to reach the next generations for Christ through effective ministries, such as family and children’s ministries
Primary Duties
• Preaches at Sunday worship services
• Provides leadership for the church and is accountable to the church through the board
• Works collaboratively with the Board and staff to articulate the vision and carry out the mission of the church
• Directs the staff in their management of all Church operations, including hiring, directing, and removing from service, any and all church staff, paid or unpaid Determines compensation of Church staff in consultation with the board
Secondary Duties
• Officiates memorial services and weddings
• Oversees counseling as needed or refers to community resources
• Oversees pastoral care of the congregation

Education: Master of Divinity (or similar education) is preferred
